Christian Aid - Thank You

We would like to say a big thank you to everybody who helped with the Christian Aid collecting and counting this year, particularly Sally‑Ann‑Ward the treasurer who sorts the counting and Gift Aid.

Below is the money raised in each village

  The Altons co-ordinator/collectors needed
  Beechingstoke£133
  Easton Royal£149
  Huish £13
  Manningfordsco-ordinator/collectors needed
  Milton Lilbourne £285
  North Newnton£208
  Oare£39
  Pewsey£2553
  Stanton St Bernard£60
  Wilcotco-ordinator/collectors needed
  Woodborough£175
  Wootton Rivers£219
  Total£3833

From the total collected there was about £1750 Gift Aided which will raise about another £500 to help those in need - it really does make a difference!

Although Christian Aid has an emergency fund and does emergency fundraising to bring aid when there are natural disasters it also works with almost 650 different partner organisations in more than 50 countries, helping people regardless of race or religion, empowering some of the world’s poorest communities to improve their lives. For example, in Kenya money from Christian Aid went to a partner organisation which supported a community group to build sanitation blocks within their settlement - the type of settlement which was called a slum.

To all the people who contributed by giving money for Christian Aid, it is good to know that your support can change lives and keeps hope of a better future alive.

Thank you
